The active ingredient in Normast, palmitoylethanolamide is an endogenous substance that occurs in every living being. This natural substance is good for the nervous system, has a beneficial effect on health and is physiologically active. Palmitoylethanolamide can be used for longer periods of time in the following formulations:

1. What is the best way to start with Normast? Is there a starter protocol?
For new Normast users it is advised to begin with the starter protocol of 50 days.
The starter protocol consists of;
- One pack of Normast 600 mg, 20 sachets
- Four packs of Normast 600 mg, 20 tablets
Because of the rapid absorption through the oral mucosa, start with Normast sachets for the first ten days. Use one package twice a day with about 10-12 hours apart. Let the powder dissolve under the tongue, and swallow as little as possible.
After ten days continue with the 600 mg Normast tablets twice a day. Normast can be taken with or without food.
Only after fifty days, the results of Normast can be properly assessed and whether prolonged use will benefit the user.
After this initial period you can try out a lower follow-up or maintenance dose of two Normast 300 mg tablets a day.
The follow-up protocol consists of five packs of thirty 300 mg Normast tablets, enough for 75 days. If it is necessary during the follow-up phase to use another 10 day cycle of the Nomast sachets this is of course not a problem.
Each user must consult with a medical specialist or decide individually if two times 300 mg is sufficient to maintain the effect or if more is needed.
2. Starter protocol Saginil & Pelvilen Forte
- One package of Saginil cannulas
- One to two packages of Saginil Gel
- Two to three packages Pelvilen Forte
Use one Saginil Gel Cannula a day for the first 10 days before going to bed (the cannulas will deliver the Saginil high in the vagina). Saginil gel should be applied to the more out-lying parts of the vagina once a day during this time. After the first 10 days, in which the cannulas are combined with the gel, the user should only continue with the gel two times a day. The cannulas are only used for the first 10 days but the gel can be used for longer periods of time. Combine the Pelvilen tablets with the cannulas and the gel from day one at 2-3 tablets a day for at least 20-30 days. After this initial period the results should be evaluated and adjustments can be made.
3. Why are the packages marked with a sharpy?
A while ago the classification of Normast changed in The Netherlands from "food for special medical purposes" to "dietary supplement". Certain claims and texts may not be listed on the package anymore and we need to manually edit the packaging or otherwise we violate Dutch regulations. The leaflets are removed as well as a result of the above. All relevant and necessary information is however still listed on the back of the package.
4. How much Nomast should I take?
It seems that 600 mg twice daily is a good dose for beginners. If, after 50 days, effects are noted the dose can probably be reduced to 300 mg twice daily. In case no results are noted it may be advisable to double the dose for several weeks to 1200 mg twice daily.
5. When should I take Normast?
Take Normast with or without a meal. It is important to spread the daily dose of 1200 mg in two separate doses with approximately 12 hours in between.
6. Is Normast a safe dietary supplement to take?
As of August 2011 there have been more than 800,000 Normast users in Europe and no difficult, dangerous or problematic side-effects have ever been noted. In the Netherlands we have had approximately a 1000 Normast users as of August 2011 and no significant side effects are observed in this group either.
7. Can Normast be taken with other prescribed medications?
Yes, you can. There are no known contraindications on negative interactions. Before taking Normast we recommend you to consult or notify your doctor or medical specialist.
8. Is Normast safe to take when I'm 76?
Yes, Normast can also be taken by the elderly individuals.
9. I am over 65, do I use different dosages?
People over 65 can simply use the recommended dosage of 600 mg twice daily.
10. How is Normast produced and degraded in our bodies? And can the blood levels be measured?
Palmitoylethanolamideis made in all body cells and more of it is made in those cells that need it. It's a simple molecular fatty substance. In the cells we have enzymes that produce this fatty substance but also enzymes that break down this substance to fatty building blocks. The enzyme that degrades Palmitoylethanolamide is the called FAAH.Because palmitoylethanolamide is located in the cells and is absorbed intracellular very quickly after being absorbed it is not useful but also difficult to measure blood levels. Blood levels are only measured for research purposes and therefore very expensive.
11. How long should I use Normast before I will notice results?
We have noted that generally results are experienced within four weeks. For some people this may take longer depending on several factors. Since results are sometimes difficult to feel, people sometimes only notice the effects of Normast when they stop taking it. Only then the difference between supplementing or not supplementing with Normast will show.
In order to get the best out of Normast we recommend at least one box of Normast sachets which is a powder to take under the tongue for 10 days and four packages of Normast 600 mg tablets for 40 days thereafter. These 50 days will give you a realistic evaluation period and afterwards you can decide the next steps to take. Sometimes it can take a while for the body to respond to Normast.
12. Can it be that the sublingual powders work better than the Normast tablets?
Sometimes we indeed hear from our customers that they experience better results with the Normast Sachets. The sublingual powders result in higher blood levels of palmitoylethanolamide and might work better for this reason. If you think that the powders work better for you, try it out a few times by switching between powders and tablets. It is possible to continue with the powder for longer periods of time.
13. Why does it sometimes take so long before any results are noticeable?
Because palmitoylethanolamide works through the natural biochemical mechanisms of the body it creates a lot of biological reactions in the cell after absorption. These processes may take some time and therefore results are not immediately noticeable.
14. Does Normast sometimes doesn’t work at all?
Yes, that can be the case. There are individuals who do not note the desired or expected results with Normast. Most people however notice some effect.
15. Is there also a Normast cream?
Yes, there is. The active ingredient in Normast is palmitoylethanolamide and the precursor molecule of this substance (Adelmidrol) is formulated in a special cream called "Algonerv". Adelmidrol penetrates better into the skin and then palmitoylethanolamide does and combined with capsaicin Algonerv is a potent and unique cream. Algonerv be used together with Normast tablets or sachets.
