The importance of collagen for our body
Collagen fibers are important extracellular proteins throughout the body. They make up about 25% to 35% of the total protein content in the body and are used by the body to build the special collagen triple helix structure. This structure ensures that tissues and fibers in our body maintain their strength, cohesion and flexibility. Before about the age of 25 the body makes enough collagen.
