Fermented Cod liver oil, mint flavored
Cod liver oil is extracted from fish livers. It is a pale yellow oil unless fermented, in which case it turns dark brown. Some people have to get used to the distinct taste of cod liver oil. To this cod liver oil variant Green Pasture has added a fresh minty flavor to somewhat mitigate the otherwise pronounced flavor. Blend the liquid with a fresh vegetable morning smoothie, or use a spoon or syringe.
Packed with nutrients
It has been known for centuries that cod liver oil is packed with important nutrients. It has long been given to children and elderly given its rightly presumed contribution to the normal functioning of the immune system. The liquid provides fat-soluble vitamins and fatty acids, including omega-3 through 9. The respective concentrations of vitamins are difficult to pin down exactly, because they may vary slightly per production batch. Green Pasture works only with natural products, so the vitamin count may slightly vary for seasonal or other reasons. The concentration of vitamins as indicated on the label is therefore necessarily a best estimate.
Traditional approach to production
The fish livers Green Pasture uses for its oils are fermented for a period of up to 6 months, with as much care and dedication as characterize a seasoned wine producer growing grape vines. This process is completely natural meaning that no synthetic nutrients are added to the product whatsoever. Raw materials are never heated, ensuring that as many active substances as possible are preserved. The result is an end-product of enormous complexity, as is true of premium wines.

Green Pasture is a family business specializing in cod liver oil. The company specializes in traditional, pre-industrial-revolution production methods. The results are pure products composed of strictly natural nutrients. Cod liver oil is fermented from fish livers, a laborious process that might take half a year to complete. Green Pasture is the only company observing this traditional method.
Mix 2 ml with water, juice, milk, honey or maple syrup and swallow the mix quickly. The flavor of the fermented cod liver oil is different than not fermented. Since lacto-fermented Blue Ice tends to irritate the throat. It is therefore recommended not to take the Blue Ice liver directly. Keep refrigirated after opening.
