Product Description

MCT powder C8-C10 from Ergomax

MCT powder C8-C10 is an odor-, color- and flavorless powder that dissolves very good in hot and cold drinks. It is suitable for drinks, soups and dishes. In contrast to MCT oil, the powder is very practical to use. An important advantage of the powder compared to MCT oil is that the powder does not cause gastrointestinal complaints such as diarrhoea. This allows your body to produce more ketones at a higher speed and a higher dosage can be maintained.

Clean label

Ergomax MCT powder C8-C10 is a unique blend of the fatty acids caprylic- and capric acid in the ratio: 70 percent C8 and 30 percent C10. Ergomax MCT powder C8-C10 contains zero grams of carbohydrates per dose. It consists exclusively of C8, C10 and proteins derived from peas. It is not mixed with - as is often the case in other products - corn fiber, maltodextrin, calcium caseinate, glucose syrup, stabilizers and other E-number variants. Pure nature, 100% pure!

Dr. Dominic D'Agostino, a leading researcher in the field of ketones, even indicates that when it comes to the production of ketones, MCT powder can be up to twice as effective as MCT oil. The eight carbon molecules of octanoic acid and the ten carbon molecules of capric acid are converted into ketones within a few minutes, making it very powerful and better 'sorting the fast effect'. Ergomax MCT powder C8-C10 is microencapsulated, which eliminates the characteristic odor- and taste of caprylic- and capric acid.

Caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10) are both members of the range of fatty acids found in oils and animal fats. The names caproic acid, caprylic acid and capric acid are all derived from the word 'Capra' (Latin for goat). They naturally have a somewhat unpleasant -like smell for some.

What is micro-encapsulation?

Micro-encapsulation is a process in which active substances are enveloped by extremely small capsules at nano-level. It is a new technology that is also used in the pharmaceutical industry to improve physical properties, stability or bioavailability. Examples of micro-encapsulation are liposomes, micelles but also proteins and starches can be used today.

  • The perfect combination with Krill- or Plankton oil (essential fatty acids)

The fatty acid groups of MCTs include caproic acid, caprylic acid, capric acid and lauric acid. Compared to the long chain fatty acids (LCTs), MCTs are smaller in molecular weight, soluble in water, burn quickly for required energy, have a lower 'smoke point' and are fluid at room temperature. MCTs contain only saturated fatty acids and therefore do not contain the essential fatty acids, linoleic and linolenic acid. Because the MCTs do not contain essential fatty acids, they also do not serve as precursors for eicosanoids. Supplementation with krill oil and / or plankton oil is therefore an extremely good combination!

What are medium chain fatty acids

Medium chain fatty acids or MCTs (Medium Chain Triglycerides) owe their name to their chemical structure. They are shorter than other fatty acids and therefore have unique properties. They do not have to be digested. Instead of going through the usual digestive processes, these fats go directly to the liver.

Medium chain fatty acids are therefore not stored in your fat cells but converted into ketones. Ketones are substances that are created when the body breaks down fats for energy. Ketones seem to be the most ideal form of energy for the mitochondria. During burning, they produce fewer free radicals than sugars.

After the liver has converted the medium chain fatty acids into ketones, they are distributed throughout the body. This is not only interesting if you follow a ketogenic diet, but also if you are looking for a fast and excellent source of energy for body and mind.

There are 4 different types of medium chain fatty acids:
C6: 0 - Caproic acid
C8: 0 - Caprylic acid
C10: 0 - Capric acid
C12: 0 - Lauric acid
