Product Description
What is HomocysteX?
Seeking Health’s HomocysteX offers bioactive forms of four essential B-vitamins to synergistically support methylation processes and normal homocysteine metabolism. Unlike our popular HomocysteX Plus product, HomocysteX does not contain betaine (TMG). The body's methylation process is critical for the formation of elementary cell building blocks including proteins, phospholipids that form nerve cell membranes and nucleic acids found in DNA and RNA. Methylation, the transferral of methyl groups (CH3) from one molecule to another, turns on genes, activates enzymes, influences hormone secretion, drives detoxification reactions, and helps maintain normal metabolism of homocysteine, a potentially harmful amino acid metabolite.
Co-factors
Factors like nutrition, oxidative stress and various additional stressors may affect methylation processes throughout the body. HomocysteX supplies folate as well as vitamin B2, B6, and B12, in forms and amounts that are efficiently utilized and well-tolerated by the body. For people with MTHFR mutations, taking L-5-methylfolate only often proves insufficient. Dr. Lynch provides mentioned other B vitamins to support the methylation cycle and maintain homocysteine levels.
Vitamin B12 supports red blood cell formation, nervous system functioning, energy production and homocysteine regulation. Vitamin B6 as P-5-P functions as a coenzyme for the metabolism of carbohydrates, amino acids, and lipids. Vitamin B6 contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Riboflavin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system, contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. For a B12- and folate-only solution, consider either Seeking Health’s Active B12 with L-5-MTHF. Consider Seeking Health’s HomocysteX Plus for a methylation support solution including betaine (TMG), an important methyl donor.
