Interfase® Plus by Klaire Labs
Interfase® Plus is a powerful proprietary enzyme formula specially formulated to disrupt gastrointestinal biofilms. As a result, biofilms, so to speak, remain balanced. This product contains broad-spectrum enzymes supplemented with the chelating organic compound ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid, or EDTA. Interfase® Plus leaves beneficial microorganisms untouched.
Benefits
- Patented formula Interfase® Plus
- Contains specific broad-spectrum enzymes and EDTA
- Can be combined well with prebiotics, probiotics and other supplements or herbal extracts
- Contains no allergens (no gluten, casein, fish, shellfish, nuts, peanuts or soy)
- Suitable for vegans and vegetarians
- Contains no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives
In combination with probiotics
We recommend using Interfase® Plus together with a high-quality probiotic and/or prebiotic product. Examples include probiotics by MegaFood or by Prescript-Assist with multiple bacterial strains in the correct active dosages. Interfase® Plus can also be combined with other supplements or herbal extracts that have a beneficial effect on the intestines. Take Interfase® Plus on an empty stomach, separate from a meal, so that the enzymes have optimal effect. Obviously also ensure complete nutrition.
Biofilm: A microbial survival mechanism
Populations of microorganisms live in our gut. In part, microbes live free and independently. For another part they are colonized in a fixed, so-called sessile form in a biofilm. A biofilm consists of microorganisms encapsulated in self-produced mucus of exopolysaccharides and exoproteins and attaches strongly to surfaces. The biofilm protects gut micro-organisms and is the preferred environment for the vast majority of microorganisms. Living in a biofilm gives bacteria and yeast significant survival benefits. It is, as it were, an adaptive mechanism that allows microbes to survive and reproduce in a favorable micro-ecological niche.
Gastrointestinal biofilm
Important types of microorganisms involved in gastrointestinal biofilm formation are Bacteroides, Bifidobacterium and Fusobacterium. Fusobacterium species have been shown to play a key role in the formation and maintenance of healthy biofilms. However, everything revolves around balance. Single germs, for example, may not play too big a part. Healthy biofilms naturally prevent colonization and biofilm formation by less desirable microorganisms.
Special formula Interfase® Plus with EDTA
Klaire Labs’ innovative enzyme formula Interfase® Plus biofilm disruptor contains a synergistic combination of several enzymes, including glucoamylase, cellulase, hemicellulase, pectinase, beta-1,3-glucanase, protease, peptidase complex with dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV), lysozyme, chitosanase and Serratia peptidase. The addition of the chelating organic compound ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, or EDTA, provides an even stronger effect. The combination of EDTA and hydrolytic enzymes in Interfase® Plus is more effective than either agent in isolation.
Documented activities
Interfase® Plus was developed based on research into the activity of the formula ingredients using the MBEC™ P&G device. This device was developed by the University of Calgary Biofilm Research Group which is made up of some of the world's leading authorities in biofilm microbiology. Using the MBEC™ device, biofilms can be reproduced and the effects of formulas on biofilms assessed. Interfase® Plus is well-documented on gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and yeast biofilms. Healthy biofilms formed by Bifidobacterium bifidum PT131, Bifidobacterium breve PT132, Bifidobacterium longum PT136, Lactobacillus casei PT116, Lactobacillus rhamnosus PT112, and Lactobacillus salivarius are unaffected by Interfase® Plus.
Caution
Use Interfase® Plus preferably under the guidance of an (orthomolecular) therapist. The product is not intended for long-term daily use. It is also not intended for persons under the age of 18, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and persons with liver or kidney disease. When in doubt, always consult your doctor first.
