Fermented kefir probiotic capsules
Each capsule contains 250 mg of traditionally fermented (cultured) kefir powder. It delivers an average of 43 billion beneficial bacteria and yeast germs from more than 40 different strains. This probiotic product includes the power and essence of traditional kefir with its complex mix of beneficial micro-organisms and nutrients.
Kefir: The ultimate probiotic
Kefir is a fermented milk beverage formed as the result of beneficial bacteria and yeasts living symbiotically in kefir grains. This example of a natural and evolutionary interactive cooperation between the micro-organisms lies at the basis of healthy kefir. The latter is also known as a SCOBY, or Symbiotic Community of Bacteria and Yeasts.
The large number of micro-organisms in kefir, the bioactive substances that are the result of microbial metabolism, and the benefits associated with the consumption of kefir, render it a genuinely natural probiotic.
Different from other probiotic products
Most of probiotic production technologies are based on the artificial growing of individual strains in sterile environments. After dry-freezing, the "sleeping" individual bacteria or yeast are mixed together according to some or other formula.
The thing is that the various strains never get the opportunity to interact during the cultivation phase. Interaction occurs only at the last moment, in the intestines. The production of our kefir probiotics is fundamentally different, however, because all micro-organisms develop symbiotic interactions throughout the cultivation phase, just as it happens in nature.
Elegant co-evolution of microbial communities
The micro-organisms form small ecosystems while they are being fed during the natural fermentation process. Each strain develops in a complex environment while having many interactions with other organisms. This results in a stronger and more potent probiotic.
In addition to the beneficial probiotic bacteria and yeast, this formulation contains a lot of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes, in particular calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, B2, B12, vitamin K, and vitamin D. The prebiotic polysaccharide kefiran is also found in this product.
Small-scale, traditional cultivation by hand
The quality of kefir is mainly determined by the micro-organisms that are present in the kefir grains and by the way they are processed. Large-scale commercial kefir production has so far not been successful due to contamination and production problems. Our kefir probiotics are therefore produced by hand in a dedicated and specialized small-scale production setup. This specific and proprietary process ensures optimal microbial diversity and nutritional value. This probiotic kefir is the most traditional, and nutritious, product to market.
Mild yet raw
Our gentle, unheated, slow fermentation and drying process was developed during many years of experimentation and analysis. The "happy zone" where beneficial bacteria and yeasts develop is set to optimize multiplication and potency. All the natural properties of kefir are retained in the final powder. This includes fragile bioactive substances such as enzymes, kefiran, lactoferrin, fatty acids and peptides.
More than 40 different bacterial and yeast strains
The complex interactions between the yeasts and bacteria and their dependence on each other in the kefir grains are not yet fully understood. The degree of interaction can be stimulated or limited by the growth of some strains. The micro-organisms compete with each other for the nutrient base in which they grow; they also produce metabolites on the basis of which other organisms may or may not thrive. A well-thought-out and careful cultivation process, monitored by experts, is therefore key. Each capsule contains at least 18 Lactobacilli strains, 9 streptococci strains and 27 yeast strains.

What is the difference between kefir capsules and kefir starter packs?
There is a fundamental difference between our hand-fermented kefir powder and kefir starter packs. The ready-made starter packs consist of a cheap byproduct of kefir grains. Compared to our capsules they contain a much lower number of micro-organisms. This ranges from 7-9, compared to our 40+, strains and subspecies.
Kefir and antibiotic use
A great advantage of a broad spectrum of probiotic yeast species is the fact that they are not susceptible to antibiotics, which only affect bacteria. For this reason, kefir can assist with maintaining the balance and functioning of the microbiome during and after antibiotics use. Short-chain fatty acids, vitamins, hydrogen and many other bioactive substances are produced both by yeast species and bacteria.

Not everyone likes the taste of kefir and most people find it too much work to make it at home.
