The base is beef bone broth protein isolate, supplemented with Celtic sea minerals. Added to this is a superfood blend of just over half a gram with liver, kidney, heart, pancreas and spleen from grass-fed cattle from New Zealand and Australia, bone mineral (MCHA) and mycelium of reishi, chaga, cordyceps and lion's mane. It is sweetened with monk fruit.

Ancestral Supplements, based in Texas, makes organ supplements from grass-fed cattle and sheep. The animals come mainly from New Zealand and partly from Australia, far removed from intensive farming. The brand draws on nose-to-tail eating, in which traditional cultures used the whole animal and regarded the organs as the most nourishing part. The organs are freeze-dried raw and not defatted. Ancestral Supplements works with organs from animals that graze outdoors all year round and are grass-fed to the end. The organs are freeze-dried raw and not defatted, so they stay as close as possible to the fresh organ. Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory.

Per scoop, about 21.8 grams of beef bone broth protein isolate with Celtic sea minerals, providing 20 grams of protein. In addition, just over half a gram of superfood blend with beef liver, kidney, heart, pancreas and spleen, bone mineral (MCHA) and mycelium of reishi, chaga, cordyceps and lion's mane, plus flavouring and monk fruit.

Mix 1 scoop with 350 to 475 ml water, milk or a smoothie. A tub contains about 30 servings. The powder can also be stirred into yoghurt or porridge.

Whey protein comes from milk; this powder comes from beef bone broth. As a result, the protein consists largely of collagen, just like a collagen powder, but it is supplemented with sea minerals, organs, bone mineral and mushrooms and has a flavour. Collagen protein has a different amino acid profile from whey.

The beef bone broth base contains no dairy, gluten or legumes. The powder is made in a facility that also processes milk, soy, egg, nuts, fish and wheat; check the exact allergen information for the flavour you choose. The Mocha flavour contains caffeine and is not recommended for children or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The protein powder comes in four flavours: Vanilla, Chocolate, Vanilla Chai and Mocha. The base and the amount of protein are the same; the scoop size, calories and flavourings differ per flavour. Mocha is the only one that contains caffeine.
