Icelandic Roots
In 2012, a group of three ambitious women founded True Westfjords Ehf, the production company behind Dropi. Ultimately launched in 2015, Dropi is based in Bolungarvík on the Westfjords peninsula. This region is home to one of Iceland’s oldest fishing communities, located along the shores of some of the most pristine North Atlantic fishing waters. This rich fishing heritage and unspoiled marine environment inspire the brand to work closely with local fishermen.
Natural Cold Processing
Dropi produces a unique extra virgin cod liver oil extracted using cold methods based on Viking-era techniques. The temperature is consistently kept below 42°C to preserve the natural structure of the oil, ensuring that omega-3 fatty acids and naturally occurring vitamins remain intact. This minimally processed product retains its original composition without the addition of additives or synthetic substances, keeping it as pure as nature intended.
Quality, Purity, and Transparency
These are Dropi's core values. Each fish is processed within hours of being caught to guarantee freshness, followed by a careful purification process that preserves its nutritional profile. The company complies with all HACCP standards and European Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations. In addition, it uses a traceability system that allows full transparency on the origin of every cod used.
