Astaxanthin is a carotenoid made by plankton, algae and some plants, to resist sunlight and oxygen. Doctor's Best Astaxanthin - AstaReal® derives from the green microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis, or Blood Rain Algae, providing a natural form of astaxanthin.
