MitoQ® – Mitoquinol Mesylate
MitoQ is a revolutionary CoQ10 supplement developed according to the latest scientific insights. Each dose contains 10 mg of patented Mitoquinol Mesylate. Developed by MitoQ® based on years of research, Mitoquinol Mesylate is a shortened and positively charged version of coenzyme Q10. Its unique properties allow the MitoQ® dose to be reduced by up to one-tenth.
What is Coenzyme Q10?
Organs and tissues that consume a lot of energy, such as the heart, pancreas, liver, kidneys, immune system, nervous system, and muscles, have higher levels of coenzyme Q10, even though the substance occurs naturally in all our body cells. Coenzyme Q10 is actually a vitamin-like substance, first discovered by Dr. Frederick Crane in 1957. He isolated it from the mitochondria of a beef heart. The letter "Q" in coenzyme Q10 comes from the English word "ubiquitous," which means "omnipresent." A fitting name, as Q10 is found virtually everywhere: from our hair to our toenails. Various types of organ meat, such as liver, kidneys, and veal sweetbreads, are good sources of Q10. Small amounts of this coenzyme can also be found in whole grain products, poultry, peanuts, nuts, spinach, broccoli, and oily fish.

About Mitoquinol Mesylate
MitoQ is the brand name for Mitoquinol Mesylate, the unique and acclaimed ingredient in MitoQ® products that has gained worldwide recognition. Mitoquinol Mesylate is a reduced and positively charged version of CoQ10, developed by adding a fat-soluble (lipophilic) cation—tetraphenylphosphonium—to the molecular structure of CoQ10. This coupling of CoQ10 with a positively charged ion allows it to cross cell membranes. This unique, patented technique combines the reduced, active form of CoQ10, called ubiquinol, with the tetraphenylphosphonium group to create an optimally developed product.
The evolution of mitochondria
Although mitochondria are now an integral part of our cells, we can safely assume they began as primitive bacteria. During our evolution, they gradually formed a symbiotic bond with our body cells; a bond that continues today. Like true powerhouses, they provide cells with energy and influence aspects of cellular function. This is likely why mitochondria have been essential for the evolution and development of more complex life forms on Earth. Mitochondria are therefore quite unusual and fascinating organelles. Did you know, for example, that they have two membranes and their own genome? And did you know, moreover, that mitochondria function based on quantum mechanical principles, produce their own water (metabolic water), and even emit faint infrared light (biophotons)?
About MitoQ®
MitoQ® is based in New Zealand and is dedicated to the development and introduction of MitoQ®, a patented molecule they have been researching for over ten years. The secret and success of MitoQ lies in a unique adaptation and optimal development based on the latest scientific insights. It is the first molecule in the world with this adaptation, which is aimed at delivering the most active form of coenzyme Q10. MitoQ, also known as mitoquinol, was discovered by scientists searching for substances that influence mitochondria. The product is patented and can therefore only be obtained through MitoQ® Limited. MitoQ® is a small, passionate team based in New Zealand, operating globally. In addition to the various MitoQ capsule formulations, MitoQ has also developed a range of creams.
