Optimal Multivitamin by Seeking Health contains 24 vitamins and minerals and seven blends of herbs, amino acids, vegetables and antioxidants, spread over six capsules a day. Folate is included as Quatrefolic® and calcium folinate, vitamin B12 as MecobalActive® and the minerals as Albion® chelates. It contains no iron.

Smell of the horse

Ashwagandha, one of the herbs in the cognition blend, means smell of the horse in Sanskrit. The name refers to the smell of the fresh root. In the Ayurvedic texts the plant belongs to the rasayana, the category translated as rejuvenation. The KSM-66® in this formula is an extract of the root only.

Made in the United States

Seeking Health has Optimal Multivitamin made in the United States according to GMP. The minerals are Albion® chelates, selenium comes from SelenoExcell® selenium yeast, folate is included as Quatrefolic® and calcium folinate and vitamin B12 as MecobalActive® methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. The capsule is plant-based.

Facts about this formula

In the United States the daily dose is 8 capsules. For the Netherlands it is 6, so that the amount of vitamin B6 stays below the Dutch limit. Together the seven blends provide just over 1.2 grams of herbs, amino acids, vegetables and antioxidants, including N-acetylcysteine, milk thistle, chlorella and coenzyme Q10.

Optimal Multivitamin by Seeking Health

Optimal Multivitamin is the most comprehensive, high-dose daily multivitamin from Seeking Health. Carefully formulated with essential micronutrients and meaningful additions, this multivitamin was created by Ben Lynch based on the latest scientific insights. Only the most bioavailable vitamins and minerals were chosen, meticulously selected, optimised and balanced.

Additional complexes

Optimal Multivitamin includes a range of support complexes specifically for the liver, eyes, cognition and antioxidants. Together, these complexes provide more than 50 additional ingredients alongside the vitamins and minerals. Think of ashwagandha, N-acetylcysteine, chlorella, milk thistle, lycopene, CoQ10 and inositol, among others.

Optimal Multivitamin: in a class of its own

Optimal Multivitamin is extremely nutrient-rich. It is even one of the few supplements on the market to offer so many nutrients! It goes beyond the daily recommended amount of many essential nutrients. It contains more than 50 nutrients in a base of superfood, fruit and vegetable extracts. Optimal Multivitamin is iron-free, as most adults do not need iron supplementation. Because Optimal Multivitamin is high-dose, the number of capsules you need to take per day is higher than with other multivitamins. With 6 capsules per day, the maximum permitted dosage in the Netherlands*, the high nutrient density is spread over several capsules. Not only out of necessity, but also to support optimal absorption. * In the Netherlands the maximum dosage of vitamin B6 is 21 mg per day. To comply with this, the maximum dosage is 6 capsules per day.

Looking for more from your multivitamin?

If you are looking for a nutrient-dense, plant-based multivitamin that goes beyond the daily recommended amount, look no further! Optimal Multivitamin is a high-dose supplement, yet with the vitamins, minerals and trace elements in ideal ratios. In addition, Ben Lynch enriched the core with plant, root and fruit powders and patented nutrient and herbal blends.

AND WHAT WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SAY
  • -
No claim whatsoever about curing, preventing or treating diseases. A supplement is not a medicine and we do not present it as one.
  • -
No substitute for medical advice. If you take medication, are pregnant or have a medical condition, consult your doctor.
  • -
No substitute for a varied diet. A supplement is an addition to healthy eating, not an alternative.

Curator's note
The most comprehensive multivitamin from Seeking Health, spread over six capsules.
Selected by Ergomax

Besides 24 vitamins and minerals, it contains seven blends, including ashwagandha, N-acetylcysteine, milk thistle and coenzyme Q10. It contains no iron, and vitamin D is dosed low at 3.75 µg; top these up separately if needed.

At 18.75 mg of vitamin B6 per day the dosage is high: do not combine it with other B6 supplements. If you take medication, consult your doctor first because of the herbs in the formula.

About the brand

Seeking Health, briefly explained.

Seeking Health

Nutrition that fits your genes.

Seeking Health was founded by Ben Lynch, naturopathic doctor and author of Dirty Genes. He studied at Bastyr University in Washington and has worked for years with doctors and health professionals who apply insights from epigenetics. His starting point: your genes are not a fixed fate, and with diet and lifestyle you can work with them. Seeking Health is best known for active forms of vitamins, such as methylfolate and methylcobalamin, and for methyl-free variants for those who are sensitive to them.

Quality and production

Active forms, clear choices.

Seeking Health opts for vitamins in the form in which the body uses them and offers a methyl-free variant of many formulas. The products are made in the United States according to GMP and are free of the most common allergens.

08 / Frequently asked questions

What you still wanted to know.

Because the formula is high-dose, the daily dose does not fit into one or two capsules. In the United States the daily dose is 8 capsules. In the Netherlands it is 6, so that the daily amount of vitamin B6 stays below the Dutch limit of 21 mg. A jar of 240 capsules therefore lasts 40 days.

Seeking Health deliberately left out iron, because most adults do not need extra iron. If you do want to supplement iron, you can do so separately. The Optimal Multivitamin chewable tablets do contain 5 mg of iron.

The chewable tablets are intended for children aged 4 and over and adults who prefer not to swallow, at 2 tablets a day. These capsules are more comprehensive and higher dosed, with seven additional blends of herbs, amino acids and antioxidants. They contain no iron and are intended for adults.

Pay particular attention to vitamin B6: six capsules provide 18.75 mg, so do not combine it with a B complex or another B6 supplement. You can top up vitamin D and magnesium separately, as they are modestly dosed in this formula.
