Green Pasture’s Blue Ice™ Royal Blend Gel is a chocolate-flavored blend that consists of 1/3 X- Factor™ Gold Concentrated Butter Oil and 2/3 of Blue Ice™ Fermented Cod Liver Oil. The cod liver oil is extracted from the livers of sustainably caught, MSC-certified Alaskan cod and the butter oil hails from cows that have had the right nutrition and living conditions for creating the richest butter oil. This unique combination product is packed with nutrients including vitamins A & D and high concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids including EPA and DHA. Cod liver oil is also available in convenient capsule form.

Importance of vitamins A & K

Green Pastures cod liver oil is unheated and by nature includes both the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA and vitamins A and D. Although it is sometimes said that too much vitamin A may be harmful, it is good to realize that many people are more likely to get too little than too much of this important vitamin for our bodies, especially children and pregnant women. Special discovery by Weston A. Price

In the 1920s and 1930s, Weston A. Price traveled the world to study traditional diets and eating habits. In his now famous book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, he describes how the Swiss worshiped the butter of cows grazing during springtime. According to Price, this was due to the fact that the cows ate fast-growing grass during this period, making the butter richer in vitamins. He discovered a previously unknown substance in the butter, which he called Activator X; it was later renamed vitamin K2. Further research by Price showed that this substance occurs mainly in butterfat and fermented cod liver oil and also demonstrated a synergistic cooperation between these two animal fats. These findings by Dr. Price are the basis of Green Pasture's unique product line, which includes butter oil, fermented cod liver oil and unique blends of these two oils.
