Lugol's solution is a solution of iodine and potassium iodide in water, named after the French physician Jean Lugol, who formulated it in 1829. Osavita makes the 5% solution in Germany, with raw materials of European Pharmacopoeia quality.

Three ingredients

The solution consists of 5% iodine, 10% potassium iodide and 85% osmosis water. Potassium iodide makes it possible to dissolve elemental iodine in water. It contains no other additives or preservatives.

Iodine per drop

According to Osavita, one drop contains 6.3 mg iodine: 3.8 mg from potassium iodide and 2.5 mg from elemental iodine.

Safe storage

Iodine is sensitive to light. Osavita therefore fills the solution into a brown glass bottle with a glass pipette. Keep the bottle out of the reach of children. Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause damage to organs.

Lugol's from Osavita is made according to the original recipe in Germany. The highly pure Lugol's contains, in addition to potassium iodide (10%) and iodine (5%), only osmosis water (85%) and no other additives. The raw materials in this product meet the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia and have been tested for purity, composition and safety according to strictly established criteria.
