What is wrong with old shakers

Anyone who has been drinking protein shakes for a while knows it: after a few weeks the shaker smells of sour milk, even after washing. Many cheap shakers are made of plastic that absorbs odours and discolouration. Older plastics also often contain BPA, a substance that has been phased out in the EU since 2025 in materials that come into contact with food.

ECOZEN

This shaker is made of ECOZEN, a copolyester from the South Korean company SK Chemicals. The material is as clear as glass, but lighter and unbreakable. It is BPA-free and does not absorb odours or discolouration.

In 2021 it was acquired by former NFL player Jeff Byers and Erica Good, who built it into a broad range from Park City, Utah. Almost all products are NSF Certified for Sport. The shaker has a capacity of 700 ml (24 oz). That is plenty for a protein shake with 300 to 400 ml of water or milk, with room to shake.

The shaker is made of ECOZEN, a BPA-free copolyester. The material is as clear as glass, but lighter and unbreakable. It does not absorb odours or discolour, so the shaker does not keep smelling after a protein shake.

Rinse the shaker with warm water straight after use, especially after a protein shake. Remove the mixing disc from the lid and clean it separately. Let all parts dry thoroughly before screwing the shaker closed again.
