Product Description

BrainBiotic™ - Brain formula

BrainBiotic™ was formulated with the aim of optimally supporting the gut-brain axis. This premium mix of probiotic strains is physiologically potent, with effects manifested both in the intestines and the brain. As the name indicates, BrainBiotic™ contains "brain bacteria".

  • 4 selected probiotic bacteria
  • 6 billion colony-forming bacteria
  • Stable at room temperature

The gut-brain axis

The gut-brain axis connects the body’s central nervous system (the brain and the spinal cord) with the "enteric" (that is, the gastrointestinal tract’s) nervous system. This axis facilitates two-way communication between the digestive tract and the brain. The microbiome (the environment of intestinal bacteria) is a major component of this axis. It acts as a connecting piece between the intestinal tract and the brain. Microbes produce substances that transmit messages between the two organs. The gut-brain axis is in balance when this communication system functions the most optimally.

Evolution of mankind

Billions of years ago, the first life on earth arose in the form of microbes. According to evolutionary theory, all life derives from these miniscule organisms. Plant and animal evolved together with these ancient microbial partners, soon forming a robust symbiosis. Our early ancestors had intensive interactions with various microorganisms dwelling in the soil and wider habitat – “good” bacteria but of course also harmful pathogens. Today this is no different and a balanced symbiosis between microbes and humans is still crucial for optimal health in the host.

Creating diversity

Modern man is becoming less and less exposed to a healthy bulk and diversity of microbes. A supplement with probiotic microbes such as BrainBiotic™ fits well in strategies meant to optimize quantity and/or diversity. Combinations with for humans indigestible sugars (or prebiotics) are known as synbiotics. These are very effective combinations as one is supplying the nutrients microbes require to thrive. Consider Prebiotic+™ or Galacto-Oligosaccharides (GOS) as options for combining prebiotics with BrainBiotic™.

Targeted formulation

Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus helveticus, Lactobacillus brevis and bifidobacterium longum are the four bacterial strains found in BrainBiotic™. These have been specifically selected for their ability to interact through the gut-brain axis and thus exchange a variety of key substances.

Open source formulation

Most companies use their own "proprietary mixtures", so they do not have to tell you the amount of each ingredient in their formulas. Natural Stacks thinks it is your right to know exactly what you put into your body. This is why they proudly publish their innovative formulas and ingredient suppliers in an open source format.
