FAQ
What is serrapeptase?

Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme that breaks down proteins. It is derived from the Serratia bacterial strain E-15 and is also known as serratiopeptidase or Serratia E-15 protease.

What does 120,000 SPU mean in serrapeptase?

SPU (Serrapeptase Units) indicates the activity level of the enzyme. A higher SPU value reflects a higher enzymatic activity.

Why is Serrateric™ coating important?

Serrateric™ coating protects serrapeptase from stomach acid and ensures the enzyme is released in the intestines, where it can be optimally absorbed.

Where does serrapeptase come from?

Serrapeptase is derived from the Serratia bacterial strain E-15 and is naturally found in the intestinal bacteria of the Japanese silkworm.

What makes Doctor’s Best serrapeptase different?

This formula combines a high potency of 120,000 SPU with a specialized Serrateric™ coating for targeted intestinal release. It also uses standardized ingredients and is produced according to strict quality standards.
