For its cod liver products Green Pasture collaborates exclusively with Alaskan Leader Seafood, a fishing company in Alaska awarded the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) mark of distinction for using sustainable fishing techniques considered by several environmental organizations as today’s most environmentally-friendly fishing methods. On board, the fish is immediately processed, inspected and deep-frozen, so that its taste and freshness are preserved. At Green Pastures the livers of cod fish are subjected to a simple and traditional fermentation process dating back to Roman times. The livers are mixed with salt and broth, after which the fish is fermented for a few months before the oil is filtered out.

About Green Pasture

Dr. Weston A.
