Why grass-fed gelatin should not be missing from your diet!
Almost everyone is familiar with gelatin as a binding agent for candies, pudding, licorice, and cakes. But did you know that gelatin is actually a clear, flavorless protein derived from the bones, connective tissues, and skins of animals? With a similar amino acid profile to collagen hydrolysate, beef gelatin offers many benefits.
Enriching Effect
Unlike collagen hydrolysate, gelatin consists of longer amino acid chains, which is why the powder forms a jelly when it comes into contact with liquid. Like collagen hydrolysate, gelatin makes a positive contribution to the soft tissues in the body, such as cartilage and skin. Additionally, the jelly particularly works in the intestines by coating the digestive tract with a soothing and protective layer.
Traditional Diets
Diets of traditional cultures are usually much higher in gelatin than our modern contemporary diets, because these cultures practice nose-to-tail eating and consume parts of the animal that are rich in gelatin, such as skin, tendons, and other gelatinous pieces of meat.
Unfortunately, today we have lost the practice of eating whole animals, and this means that we eat much less gelatin than our ancestors – or don't eat meat at all.
Below are three reasons why almost everyone – even vegetarians – should eat gelatin:
- Gelatin balances meat intake. Nowadays, most people only consume muscle meat. Although collagen makes up about 50% of the protein in animals, only about 6% of muscle tissue is collagen.
-
Gelatin for the Gut. Gelatin protects the intestinal wall and promotes bowel function. Gelatin also absorbs water and ensures normal intestinal function.
-
Gelatin & Collagen for Skin, Hair, Nails, and Joints. Collagen hydrolysate and gelatin are well-known promoters of skin health. Both collagen hydrolysate and gelatin provide glycine and proline, two amino acids used in collagen production. Collagen is one of the necessary structural elements of the skin, so providing the building blocks for this important protein can ensure your body can make enough of it.
Essential Amino Acids
Ergomax's gelatin powder contains 19 amino acids, including all 8 essential amino acids. The body cannot produce these amino acids itself, which is why it depends on external supply. Additionally, the beef gelatin contains high concentrations of the important amino acids proline, glycine, and hydroxyproline: the building blocks for collagen!
Pure Local Source
The high-quality beef gelatin from Ergomax is 100% sourced from grass-fed cattle from Sweden. The cattle are kept naturally to maintain the highest possible quality.
Good for Your Body and Versatile in Use!
High-quality gelatin powder can actually be added to all your drinks. Even in coffee, tea, soup, and broth. It's flavorless and dissolves easily. Only when you let the liquid substance cool down do you get a kind of jelly. Due to the thickening property of the product, gelatin is therefore ideally suited for preparing pudding, desserts, or candies.
