Dopamine Brain Food™ by Natural Stacks

Natural Stacks' patented Dopamine 'brain food’ formula consists of a combination of ingredients that together form the essential precursors and co-factors for the production of the neurotransmitter dopamine. Dopamine plays a role in motivation, attention and concentration. Dopamine in turn is a precursor to norepinephrine (or noradrenaline) and epinephrine (adrenaline). These two substances are also associated with alertness and attention.

Contains Dopamine Brain Food™

  • Important precursors of dopamine: the amino acids L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine
  • Dopamine cofactors and antioxidants: vitamin C (Quali-C©), vitamin B6 (pyridoxal-5-phosphate) and selenium
  • Nutrients essential for the methylation/SAMe cycle: folate (Quatrefolic©), vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) and trimethylglycine

Benefits

  • Precursors and cofactors for dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine
  • Vitamin C, B12 and folic acid support the immune system
  • Vitamin C contributes to collagen formation
  • Vitamin C, B6, B12 and folic acid activate the natural energy
  • Vitamin C and selenium are antioxidants and protect cells from oxidative damage
  • Vitamin C, B6 and folic acid support mental resilience
  • Vitamin C, B6 and B12 support concentration and memory
  • Vitamin C, B6 and B12 support the nervous system
  • Vitamin C, B6 and folic acid support a clear mind
  • Folic acid contributes to resilience to stress
  • Folic acid contributes to normal amino acid synthesis
  • Folic acid contributes to the cell renewal process
  • Vitamin B12, folic acid and TMG (betaine) are beneficial for homocysteine metabolism
  • Vitamin B12 contributes to the formation of red blood cells
  • Vitamin B12 is involved in the production of cells and tissues
  • Contains no gluten or soy; GMO-free
  • Free from artificial additives and preservatives
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans

Brain Food™: neurotransmitter support

Neurochemistry is the whole of biochemical processes in the brain. Neurotransmitters play an important role in this as signaling molecules. This extremely complex interplay varies from person to person, but also from season to season. Genetic as well as epigenetic factors (such as the environment, nutrition, sleep and exercise) can influence this. A 'brain food supplement' contains natural substances and precursors of specific neurotransmitters.

Vitamin C: Quali-C© ascorbic acid

The vitamin C in this formula comes from the patented Quali-C ©. Quali-C® is produced in Europe. It is a vitamin C of very high quality and reliability. Vitamin C enjoys many health claims, such as pertaining to support of the immune system, collagen formation in our body, the nervous system, concentration and memory, and contribution to energy levels in the body. In this formula Vitamin C is mainly used for its neuroprotective antioxidant effects. By reducing oxidative stress, vitamin C supports normal cell functions, such as in the brain. Vitamin C also prevents oxidation of vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Vitamin B6: pyridoxal-5-phosphate

The vitamin B6 included in this formula is pyridoxal-5-phosphate, or P5P. P5P is the biologically active form of Vitamin B6. The vitamin no longer needs to be converted by the body and can be used immediately. Vitamin B6 is an essential vitamin and an important enzymatic cofactor for normal metabolic and psychological functioning.

In the brain Vitamin B6 is used as a cofactor and as a so-called rate-limiting substrate for the synthesis of the neurotransmitters dopamine, GABA and serotonin. Vitamin B6, for example, helps convert the precursor L-dopa into active dopamine. Vitamin B6 also supports a healthy metabolism, so it plays a role in the brain’s glucose regulation. Vitamin B6 also supports healthy nerve cells. It plays a vital role in supporting healthy cognitive functions.

Folate: Quatrefolic® or 6(S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate

Folate Vitamin B11 comes in the form of the patented Quatrefolic©, being 6(S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate. Folate contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and resilience to stress. In addition, it contributes to normal amino acid synthesis, the production of red and white blood cells, the process of cell renewal and tissue production, and normal homocysteine metabolism. Finally, folate supports the immune system.

Vitamin B12: Methylcobalamin

Vitamin B12, in the form of methylcobalamin, contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and helps fight fatigue. In addition, it is beneficial for red blood cells, cell division, a normal metabolism of homocysteine, proper mental balance, and the nervous system. B12 also supports the immune system. As the name methylcobalamin indicates, B12, along with folate, plays an important role in the process called methylation.

Selenium and Trimethylglycine

Selenium comes in the form of L-selenomethionine: the amino acid L-methionine with a selenium atom in place of the sulfur atom. L-selenomethionine is safe and highly bioavailable. Selenium has an important antioxidant effect.

Trimethylglycine (TMG) is also called betaine. Betaine contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism. It is found in beets, spinach and shellfish. Trimethylglycine plays an important role in methylation. It contains three methyl groups (Tri-Methyl-Glycine) and is therefore an important methyl donor. Methyl groups play an important role in various metabolic cycles.

Amino acids L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine

The amino acids L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine are important precursors to dopamine. When the correct cofactors are present, proteins from food, provided they are sufficiently present, are converted into the amino acid 1-phenylalanine. L-phenylalanine is then converted to L-tyrosine. L-dopa is made from L-tyrosine. L-dopa goes on to be converted into dopamine. Dopamine is again the precursor to norepinephrine, and finally norepinephrine is the precursor to adrenaline. Folate, vitamins C, B6 and B12 are important cofactors in this cascade.

Methylation

Methylation is an extremely important process that takes place throughout the body. Through this process, metabolic reactions can be performed effectively. Folate, vitamin B12 and trimethylglycine have been added to Dopamine Brain Food™ to aid in the methylation process and to aid in the synthesis of S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe). SAMe is an amino acid that plays an important role in the methylation process, namely as a cofactor for converting norepinephrine (noradrenaline) into epinephrine (adrenaline).
